POSITION SUMMARYE-Z Bel Construction, a leading civil construction general contractor, is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to support our operations. This role will primarily utilize Trimble Business Center (TBC) to develop, modify, and analyze project models for roadway, drainage, and bridge construction. Experience with Civil 3D (AutoCAD) is a plus, but proficiency in TBC is essential. The CAD Technician will play a key role in integrating field data, creating cut sheets, and ensuring project documentation aligns with as-built conditions.
YOUR ROLE--- Utilize Trimble Business Center (TBC) to create and modify 3D models, alignments, grading surfaces, and volume calculations for civil construction projects. --- Incorporate survey data from field crews into models for accurate project execution. --- Develop and maintain quantity books for major volumes, as well as redline and as-built project documentation. --- Create and update cut sheets for excavation, grading, and material placement. --- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accuracy in digital models. --- Support the layout and staking process by generating data files for machine control and survey equipment. --- Assist in preparing reports and technical documentation related to project designs and updates. --- Communicate effectively with project managers, survey teams, and field personnel to ensure seamless integration between digital models and field execution. --- Maintain strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
WHAT YOU BRING--- 2-3 years of experience in civil construction drafting, modeling, or related roles.--- Proficiency in Trimble Business Center (TBC) is required.--- Experience with Civil 3D (AutoCAD) is a plus.--- Familiarity with roadway, drainage, and bridge construction projects.--- Understanding of surveying principles and experience working with field-collected data.--- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.--- MicroStation software experience is a plus but not required.--- Ability to apply common-sense problem-solving to interpret and execute written and verbal instructions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe CAD Technician role primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting, working on a computer, and using a mouse and keyboard. The position may occasionally require standing, walking, bending, or reaching to access files and office equipment. Limited field visits may be necessary, involving walking on uneven terrain, exposure to outdoor elements, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The role also requires visual acuity to read detailed plans, computer screens, and technical drawings, as well as manual dexterity for precise data entry and model adjustments.
