JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will independently plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care and policy and procedure. Responsibilities include providing direct nursing care to patients, assuming teaching and leadership responsibilities, participating in unit committee and quality improvement activities, and requiring minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Locate and document medical and nursing patient care information
• Obtain patient history using appropriate interview techniques
• Deliver patient care and treatment using problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Administer medication safely and accurately
• Evaluate outcomes of care to determine if patient needs were met
• Complete care assignments in a reasonable amount of time
• Report to oncoming shift the care that should be provided and/or needs that have yet to be addressed
• Attend courses and in-services offered
• Maintain clinical skills specifically required on unit
• Serve as a preceptor for new employees, coworkers, and students
• Maintain communication with patient family/significant other as patient progresses through continuum of care
• On-call duties may be required EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida
  • One year of recent OR experience is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
