Job Description:

Provides direct and indirect patient care and carries out provider orders. The Medical Assistant assists employees in providing high-quality patient care and maintains a positive working relationship with the healthcare team. Maintains established patient care and operational expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Communicates with providers, coordinates tests and procedures, and provides patients with community resources.
  
• Maintains clinical competencies and ensures customer service is always maintained at a high level.
  
• Assists with patient discharge, participates in patient education, and reports clinical findings to providers.
  
• Follows universal precaution standards and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • High school education or equivalent, and a certificate from an accredited medical assistant program.
    
  • CPR certification with AED and national certification as a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant.
    
  • At least one year of experience in a clinic or hospital environment, and proficiency in computer/EMR systems.
    
    
    Work Environment:
    
    • 
      
    • Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
      
    • Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
