Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, with full benefits

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM or 7 AM - 4 PM (flexible), weekends as needed

About the Role

Our client, a well-established construction firm, is seeking an Estimator to join their growing team in San Antonio. This role focuses on pre-construction planning, cost estimation, and bid preparation for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in heavy civil construction estimating and a proven ability to manage complex bids from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct pre-bid site visits to assess project scope and existing conditions.


Review and interpret construction documents, including drawings and technical specifications.


Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis using industry-standard tools.


Source, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes.


Work closely with project managers and engineers to develop accurate cost estimates.


Assist in bid proposal preparation, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.


Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.


Utilize software such as Viewpoint, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and HCSS for estimation and reporting.



What You Bring

5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating.


Strong proficiency in Viewpoint and other relevant industry software.


Ability to analyze technical data and create cost-effective bid proposals.


Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


Stability in work history (minimum 4 years per role preferred).


Familiarity with industry leaders such as Webber is a plus.
